abstract 1429774 Oral compositions UNILEVER Ltd 26 July 1973 [28 July 1972] 35357/72 Heading A5B An oral hygiene product capable of imparting a pleasant persistent aroma to the breath comprises a cyclic terpenic material having a woody or floral-woody fragrance note together with an orally acceptable flavouring ingredient. The cyclic terpenic material has a molecular weight of 150-350 and a boiling point at atmospheric pressure of 230-400‹C. Suitable materials are oil of sandalwood, oil of vetiver, alpha-ionone, acetylcedrene, 1-isopropyl-4-methyl-5 (or 6)-methoxycarbonylbicyclo [2.2.2]-oct-2-ene, alpha-daphnone, alpha-irone, #-ionone, adrenone, cedryl acetate, patchouli oil, vetiveryl acetate, isobomyl methoxycyclohexanol, santalyl phenylacetate, santanol, and dodecahydro-3a, 6, 6, 9a-tetramethylnaphtho [2, 1-b] furan. The product may be a dentifrice or mouthwash.
