titleOfInvention Isomerization process
abstract 1429239 Isomerizing paraffins CHEVRON RESEARCH CO 3 July 1973 [3 July 1972] 31720/73 Heading C5E A feed comprising one or more C 5 or higher paraffins, and/or cycloparaffins is isomerized by contact at not more than 400‹ F. with a catalyst comprising HF-SbF 5 on a porous solid support in the presence of at least 25 wt. per cent, calculated on the feed, of isobutane to cause a reduction in the deactivation rate of the catalyst. The catalyst support may be fluorided alumina. A preferrred feed comprises C 5 and/or C 6 normal paraffins.
