titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of so-called -cold-cured- flexible polyurethane foams |
abstract | 1427002 Polyurethane foams RHONEPOULENC SA 20 July 1973 [20 July 1972] 32284/75 Divided out of 1426783 Heading C3R In a process for the preparation of "coldcured" flexible polyurethane foams by pouring a foamable composition into a mould, closing the mould, forming the foam and releasing it from the mould, the foamable composition contains 0À1 to 5% of its weight of an organopolysiloxane resin comprising units of the formulµ R 2 SiO and RSiO 1À5 having a R/Si ratio ranging from 1À05 to 1À5 and containing at least 1% wt. of hydroxyl groups bonded to silicon atoms, wherein R represents a C 1 -C 7 monovalent hydrocarbon radical, preferably a C 1 -C 4 alkyl, a phenyl or a methylphenyl radical. In the examples organopolysiloxane resins of R/Si ratios ranging from 1À1-1À38 and Si-OH group contents ranging from 3-5% wt. prepared by hydrolysing a mixture of methyltrichlorosilane, phenyltrichlorosilane and either diphenyldichlorosilane, dimethyldichlorosilane or phenylmethyldichlorosilane using toluene as solvent, are added to polyurethane foamable compositions comprising a polyether triol containing 15% oxyethylene units (M. wt. 5000); a polyether diol containing 75% wt. oxyethylene and oxypropylene units in a 50/50 ratio (M. wt. 800), water, dimethylcyclohexylamine, triethylenediamine, p,p<SP>1</SP>-diisocyanatodiphenylmethane and an 80/20 isomeric mixture of toluene diisocyanate. The resulting foams have a thin light porous surface skin. |
