titleOfInvention | Azetidine n-oxides |
abstract | 1425238 Azetidine N-oxides TEIKOKU HORMONE MFG CO Ltd 6 April 1973 [10 April 1972 (2) 14 March 1973] 16593/73 Heading C2C Azetidine N-oxides of the general formula or their hydrogen peroxide salts or hydrates, are prepared by oxidizing compounds of general formula wherein R is a saturated or unsaturated substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group, R 1 is a substituent which is stable to the oxidation, n=0, 1, 2 or 3, and, when n=2 or 3, the R 1 groups may be the same or different. Particular azetidine N-oxides have the general formula wherein Z is an alkyl or aralkyl group and Y is a hydrogen atom or a substituent which is stable to the oxidation. Azetidine N-oxides of the first formula above, or their hydrogen peroxide salts or hydrates, in which R is a saturated or unsaturated substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group of 1 to 30 carbon atoms and R 1 is a halogen atom or an oxo, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxyalkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, aralkyl, aralkoxy, acyloxy, alkoxycarbonyl, aroyloxycarbonyl, aralkoxycarbonyl or organic sulphonyloxy group are claimed as novel. The compounds can be prepared using conventional oxidizing agents. |
