abstract | 1421204 Purifying crude 7-amino-desacetoxycephalosporanic acid E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 20 March 1973 [5 April 1972] 13293/73 Heading C2C A process for the purification of crude 7- amino - desacetoxycephalosporanic acid comprises the sequence of steps (1) forming an aqueous slurry of the crude material, (2) adjusting the pH of the slurry to an alkaline pH, not substantially in excess of pH 7À5, until the solids are in solution or suspension, (3) removing contaminants by solvent extraction, filtration or treatment with adsorbent or chelating agent, or combination thereof, (4) readjusting the pH to within the range of pH 3 to 6 by acidification and (5) isolating purified crystalline 7-aminodesacetoxycephalosporanic acid. |
