The salt may be Ba or Ca alkyl phenate or alkyl sulphonate, Ca or Mg petroleum sulphonate, Ca acetate, Ba, Sr, or Mg naphthenate or Ba alkyl aryl sulphonate. Dyestuffs EASTMAN KODAK CO 8 Dec 1972 [10 Dec 1971 (3)] 56694/72 Heading C4P [Also in Divisions C2 and G2] Specific azomethine dyes are obtained as follows: (a) in Example I, a dye of the formula is obtained by condensation of a compound of the formula with N,3,5-trichloro-p-benzoquinone monoimine in ethyl acetate; (b) in Example 3, a dye of the formula is obtained by oxidative coupling of a compound of the formula with 2, 6-dichloro-4-aminophenol, with the aid of potassium ferricyanide; (c) in Example 5, a dye is obtained by oxidative coupling of a compound of the formula wherein R is PhCH 2 OCO-, with 2,6-dichloro-4- amino-phenol, with the aid of potassium ferricyanide; (d) in Example 10, a dye is obtained by condensing the 4,4-dibromopyrazolone obtained by brominating a pyrazolone of the formula with 2,6-dichloro-4-aminophenol in DMF and triethylamine as acid acceptor. In Example 12, a dye of the formula is obtained in an analogous manner; and (e) in example 16, a dye of the formula is obtained by oxidative coupling of 3-[γ-(paminophenyl) - propyl] - 6 - methyl -1H- pyrazolo - [3,2-C]-5-triazole with 2,6-dichloro-4- aminophenol with the aid of potassium ferricyanide.
