abstract 1416604 Photodegradable polymer compositions HOECHST AG 24 Sept 1973 [5 Oct 1972] 44638/73 Heading C3P Photodegradable thermoplastic moulding compositions comprise (1) a thermoplastic polymer and (2) 0À01 to 5 weight per cent of an anthrone mono- or di-substituted in the 10- position. Examples describe compositions of (1-20) polypropylene stabilized with 2,2-isopropylidene bis - (4 - isononyl phenol), (21- 52) polystyrene and (53-55) polyethylene with various 10-substituted anthrones. Other polymers mentioned are polybutene, poly-4-methyl pentene - 1, styrene / acrylonitrile copolymers, ABS resins and polyoxymethylene. An extensive list of substituted anthrones is given.
