abstract | 1415468 Preparation of aromatic nitrites STANDARD OIL CO 27 March 1973 [27 March 1972] 14539/73 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] The invention comprises a process for the preparation of heterocyclic or carbocyclic aromatic nitriles in which a corresponding methyl substituted aromatic compound is reacted at 300-500‹ C. with ammonia and molecular oxygen or oxygen supplied by the catalyst in the presence of a catalyst containing an oxide of formula Fe a Bi b Mo c Ni d Co e Q f R g O x wherein Q is an alkali metal an alkaline earth metal thallium or a mixture thereof; R is boron, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony or tungsten or a mixture thereof; a and b are numbers from 0À1 to 12; c is a number from 8 to 16; d, e and f are numbers from 0 to 10; g is a in which R 1 and R 2 are identical or different number from 0 to 6 and x is a number which satisfies the valence requirements of the other elements. |
