abstract 1414678 Dental creams COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 19 Oct 1973 [30 Oct 1972 30 April 1973] 48800/73 Heading A5B A dental cream comprises a dental vehicle having dispersed therein an amount of alphaalumina flakes, finely-divided zirconium silicate or mixtures thereof within the range of 0.01 to 5% and an amount of iridescent flakes within the range of 0.1 to 5%, the alpha-alumina flakes being flat with sharp edges and having an average particle diameter of less than 20 microns and thicknesses of less than about 3 microns and the zirconium silicate having an average particle size of less than 5 microns. The iridescent flakes are preferably transparent mica flakes coated on both sides with titanium dioxide, these flakes having an average thickness of less than 1 micron and being less than 100 microns in length. The cream may contain as an abrasive, an amorphous silica or an amorphous alkali metal or alkali earth metal alumino silicate.
