abstract | 1412940 Anaerobically curable compositions ROCOL Ltd 8 March 1973 [30 Dec 1971] 60628/71 Heading C3P An anaerobically curable composition comprises a polymerizable alkoxy acrylate ester monomer together with a hydroperoxide as a latent polymerization initiator, the ester being of the general formula where: the aromatic groups are benzene rings or other aromatic groups substituted or not; R 1 and R 2 represent hydrogen, alkyl, aryl or hydroxy alkyl groups, or halogen; and R 3 and R 4 represent wherein n is an integer, for example 1 to 20 and preferably 1 to 5, R 6 and R 7 represent hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy groups, or halogen. In the examples the compositions comprise propoxylated bisphenol A dimethacrylate, propoxy. lated bisphenol C dimethacrylate, ethoxylated bisphenol A dimethacrylate, ethoxylated bisphenol A di-acrylate, p-menthane hydroperoxide, 2-amino pyridine, 1,4-benzoquinone, dodecane - 1 - thiol, N,N - dimethyl - 4- nitro aniline, N,N - dimethyl toluidine, N,N - dimethyl - 1 - naphthylamine, N,N - diethyl aniline, N,N - dimethyl aniline, 2,4 - dinitrophenol, N,N - dimethyl coco amine N-oxide, trismethyl aziridine oxide, cumene hydroperoxide, diisopropyl benzene hydroperoxide, acenaphthene quinone, 9,10 - anthraquinone and alpha-picoline N-oxide. The compositions are applied to nuts and bolts. |
