abstract | 1411187 Polyisoprene compositions KURARAY CO Ltd 19 Nov 1973 [2 Dec 1972] 53616/73 Heading C3P Vulcanizable rubber compositions having improved green strength comprise (a) maleinized cis-1,4-polyisoprene having a bound maleic anhydride content of 0.03-2.5 moles per 100 recurring isoprene units, (b) zinc oxide, and (c) 0.5-3.0 parts by weight per 100 parts polyisoprene of an oxide or hydroxide of a metal of Groups IA, IIA or IVB of the Mendeleef Periodic Table. In examples, component (c) is NaOH, Mg(OH) 2 , Ca(OH) 2 , Ba(OH) 2 or PbO, and the compositions also contain carbon black or calcium carbonate filler, a phenolic antioxidant and conventional vulcanizing additives. |
