titleOfInvention Energy absorning compositions
abstract 1400610 Energy absorbing compositions NATIONAL RESEARCH CORP 9 Dec 1972 57103/72 Heading C3P Energy absorbing compositions comprise (a) an organic plasticizer having a number average molecular weight of 300-1000 and a per cent ring structure (ignoring hetero atoms) of above 30, (b) 70-150 parts per 100 parts of (a) of a vinyl halide polymer, (c) 100-800 parts per 100 parts of (a) of a pulverulent glass filler having a particle size of between + 60 and - 325 Tyler mesh and optionally (d) 0À2-5 parts per 100 parts of (c) of an organosilane coupling agent. Specified plasticizers are tricresyl phosphate, di-(methylcyclohexyl) phthalate, dipropylene glycol dibenzoate and commercial aromatic hydrocarbon oil, high molecular weight phthalate and polyester plasticizers. PVC is the preferred polymer.
