abstract | 1398741 Disperse monoazo dyes IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 April 1973 [17 May 1972] 23104/72 Addition to 1256093 Heading C4P New disperse monoazo dyes, free from SO 3 H and COOH groups of formula wherein A<SP>2</SP> is a phenyl radical which is substituted by a nitro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, -SO 2 R<SP>3</SP>, -CONR<SP>4</SP>R<SP>5</SP> or -COR<SP>3</SP> group and which is optionally substituted by one or two nitro, cyano, lower alkoxy, hydroxy lower alkoxy, lower alkyl carbonyloxy, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl or phenoxy groups; R<SP>3</SP> is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl radical; R<SP>4</SP> is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; R<SP>6</SP> is hydrogen or alkyl; and Z<SP>2</SP> is an alkyl radical containing at least 5 carbon atoms, are prepared by azo coupling "lower" alkyl and alkoxy groups containing 1-4 C atoms. The dyes are used to colour synthetic textile materials, in particular polyesters in yellow shades. |
