The aldehyde may be acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, butylaldehyde, isobutylaldehyde, pivalylaldehyde, heptaldehyde, lauraldehyde, stearaldehyde, succindialdehyde, crotonaldehyde, benzaldehyde, o-,m- or p-chlorobenzaldehyde, p-bromo-,nitro- or hydroxy-benzaldehyde, o-tolualdehyde, cinnamaldehyde, α-naphthaldehyde or furfural. The magenta dye images formed are fast to heat and moisture.
