titleOfInvention Photographic material
abstract 1396791 Silver halide materials AGFAGEVAERT AG 30 June 1972 [30 June 1971] 30756/72 Heading G2C A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material includes an anti-halation or filter layer comprising a dye combination of (I) a condensation product of a methylenedioxy- or optionally substituted alkoxybenzaldehyde or -cinnamaldehyde with pyrazolone, in which the dye molecule contains an acid group e.g. CO 2 H, a diffusionpreventing radical e.g. a hydrocarbon chain having 7 to 11C, and a methylenedioxy or optionally substituted alkoxy substituted phenyl ring (II) a salt e.g. a silver salt of a tri- or pentamethine oxonole of an optionally substituted alkyl substituted thiobarbituric acid and (III) a colour lake of aurin tricarboxylic acid. The examples of dyes (1) include the reaction products of 1-(4<SP>1</SP>- carboxyphenyl)-3-heptyl-5-pyrazolone and piperonal and of 0-carboxymethoxy-cinnamic aldehyde and 1-(2. 4, 6-trichlorophenyl)-3-heptyl-5-pyrazolone. The colour lakes (III) may be formed by reacting aurin tricarboxylic acid with salts of Al, Cr, Fe, Ce, Zr, Th, Be, Ga and In. The anti-halation layer may be arranged between a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion and a support or between two silver halide emulsion layers and is rapidly decolourized on processing.
