titleOfInvention N-substituted 1-aminomethylindans
abstract 1394859 N-substituted-1-aminomethylindanes BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 25 July 1972 [26 July 1971] 34689/72 Heading C2C Novel compounds I and salts thereof in which R 1 is C 1-6 alkyl or C 6-8 cycloalkyl and R 2 is C 1-6 alkyl substituted by phenyl hydroxyl, alkoxy or dialkyl amino or NR 1 R 2 represents an N-containing, 5 to 7 membered heterocycle which may be substituted by alkyl radicals and which may contain a further N or O atom in the ring are prepared by reductive amination of 1- formyl indane. Compounds prepared are those in which R 1 is methyl and R 2 is 3-phenyl-butyl or NR 1 R 2 is an optionally C 1-3 alkylated pyrrolidine, piperidine, hexahydroazepine, piperazine or morpholine ring. Stereoisomers may be resolved using C -1 dibenzoly-tartaric acid. Compounds I lower blood pressure, inhibit inflammation ad have parasympatholytic and CNS stimulating properties and form a pharmaceutical composition which may be administered orally or parenterally.
