titleOfInvention | Piperidine derivatives for the stabilization of synthetic polymers |
abstract | 1390251 Stabilized polymers SANKYO CO Ltd 31 Jan 1972 [29 Jan 1971] 4333/72 Headings C3P and C3R Synthetic polymers, e.g. polyproylene, polyethylene, nylon-6, polyurethane or polyvinyl chloride may be stabilized with a compound of general formula (I) wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP>, which may be the same or different, each represents C 1-4 alkyl, or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together with the C atom to which they are attached, constitute a saturated alicyclic group or a group of formula n = 1, 2 or 3 and X<SP>1</SP> represents C 1-4 alkyl or n = 4 and X<SP>1</SP> represents H or C 1-4 alkyl; and when n = 1, R<SP>3</SP> represents an acyl group derived from an aliphatic or aromatic monocarboxylic acid; when n = 2, R<SP>3</SP> represents a diacyl group derived from an aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid, or a carbonyl group; when n = 3, R<SP>3</SP> represents a triacyl group derived from an aliphatic or aromatic tricarboxylie acid, or a trivalent group derived by removal of three hydroxyl groups from phosphoric acid, phosphorous acid or boric acid; and when n=4, R<SP>3</SP> represents a tetraacyl group derived from an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid, or a tetravalent group derived by removal of four hydroxyl groups from orthosilicic acid; or their salts. The test polymer samples contain only a novel compound as stabilizer, or for PVC the sample also contained in the mixture one of dibasic lead phosphite, lead stearate, calcium stearate or barium stearate. |
