abstract | 1388236 Animal feed supplement INTERNATIONAL MINERALS & CHEMICAL CORP 12 June 1973 [8 Aug 1972] 27949/73 Heading A2B [Also in Division Cl] An animal feed supplement material which comprises phosphate reeks of reduced fluorine content prepared by introducing finely divided phosphate reek and steam into a reaction zone wherein a temperature above the melting point of the phosphate rack is maintained, whereby the phosphate reek melts and fluorine is evolved, maintaining continuous movement of the phosphate reek in the reaction zone to avoid any substantial accumulation of molten phosphate, and rapidly quenching the molten drops of phosphate removed from the reaction zone before the temperature drops to 1100C to produce a solid product having a P/F weight ratio of greater than 50 with substantially all of the phosphate content thereof as α tri-calcium phosphate. Lace elements e.g. Fe, Co, Nr, Cu, Zn can be added during the reaction to give an improved product for animal feed use. |
