abstract | 1387124 Polymer compositions CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 20 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970] 58972/71 Headings C3G C3P and C3R Polymer compositions for forming articles by calendering, casting, coating, dipping, extruding, coagulating or pressing, comprise a plastics or rubber material containing a hydrophilic polymeric filler containing groups able to bind water reversibly, having a particle size of less than 50 microns, being present in an amount of 10- 50% by wt. of the composition and chosen from cross-linked polymers of hydroxyethylmethacrylate, glyceryl methacrylate, trimethylammonium hydroxypropyl methacrylate, or acrylic or methacrylic acid or amide or salt thereof, or ion exchange resins comprising sulphonated styrene-divinyl benzene copolymer or containing quaternary ammonium groups. Plasticizers, stabilizers, dyes and pigments may also be present. Exemplified compositions contain (1) butadiene-acrylonitrile (60/40) copolymer, polyethylene glycol methacrylate cross-linked with divinylbenzene, kaolin, zinc oxide, thiourea, stearic acid, titania and pigment; (2) as (1) replacing the methacrylate copolymer with styrene-divinylbenzene cation exchange resin; (3) PVC, polyester polyurethane, and methacrylic acid-methacrylamide-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (3/2/1/) copolymer in dimethyl formamide; (4) PVC, ethylene-vinyl acetate grafted with vinyl chloride, dioctyl phthalate, Cd/Ba stearate, titania, glyceryl monooleate and polystyrene containing benzyldimethylammonium chloride groups; (5) PVC, sulphonated cross-linked polystyrene, dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate, epoxidized soyabean oil, titania and a pigment. |
