abstract | 1384111 Imidocarbonyl - (1H) - pyridones E R SQUTBB & SONS Inc 26 Jan 1972 [28 May 1971] 3767/72 Heading C2C Novel imidocarbonyl-(1H)-pyridone derivatives of Formula (IV) wherein each R is the same or different and is -H, alkyl or alkenyl (1-12C), -OH, alkoxyl (1-12C), -NO 2 , -CN, halogen, carboxyl, amido, mercapto, aliphatic or aromatic acyl radicals (# 20C), unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl substituted by one of the foregoing substituents, or aryloxy (# 10C), Q is alkyl, alkoxyl, alkylthio, aryl, aryloxy, arylthio, amino, mono- or di-alkylamino, mono- or diarylamino, -CH(COOC 2 H 5 ) 2 , or a basic N- containing heterocyclic radical attached via the N atom; and M is H, alkali metal, Tl, CdQ, MgBr, MgQ or CaQ. The (1H)-pyridones of Formula (IV) are prepared by reacting a compound of Formula (II) with a nucleophilic compound, QM, from which an anion may be generated. The compounds of Formula (IV) absorb U.V. light and find use as sun screen agents. |
