abstract | 1383291 N-phenylamidines BRISTOLMYERS CO 22 May 1973 16343/74 Divided out of 1377353 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, wherein B is X, Y are each H, halogen, CF 3 or C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy; Z is Ph, 2-thienyl or 2-furyl; and A is 5,6 - dihydro - 2H - 1,4 - oxazin - 3 - yl, 5,6- dihydro-2H-1,4-thiazin-3-yl, or are of the following #<SP>1</SP>-2-heterocyclyl radicals optionally containing 1 or 2 C 1-4 alkyl substituents, namely, pyrrolinyl, tetrahydropyridyl or tetrahydroazepinyl. These compounds are prepared by reacting in presence of POCl 3 and an inert organic solvent, a compound of Formula III (but where B is -NH-alkylene(C 1-4 )-Z), with the appropriate acyclic or cyclic amide. Therapeutic compositions having diuretic, anti-thrombogenic, smooth muscle relaxant, brochodilating or anti-inflammatory activity comprise compounds of the above formula, and may be administered orally (preferably) or parenterally. |
