abstract 1382755 Derivatives of 1,1-diphenyl-1-imidazolyl-1-pyridylmethane BAYER AG 14 June 1973 [15 June 1972] 28341/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are each C 1-4 alkyl, and processes for making them by reacting (a) a corresponding 1,1-diphenyl-1-pyridylmethanol with thionyl bis-imidazole in an inert organic diluent at - 20‹ to 150‹ C., or (b) a corresponding 1,1- diphenyl-1-pyridylmethyl halide with imidazole in presence of an acid-binding agent at 20‹ to 180‹ C. Therapeutic compositions having antimycotic activity comprise compounds of the above formula, and may be in a form suitable for oral, parenteral, rectal, topical or spray administration.
