abstract | 1378233 Laminates VULCAN MATERIALS CO 2 Oct 1972 [20 Oct 1971] 45274/72 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions C2 and C3] Laminates are made by bonding several layers of glass-fibre cloth with a solution of a polyesteramide (P) in styrene. On curing in the presence of Co naphthenate and MEK peroxide, the styrene acts to crosslink (P). The glass-fibre cloth may have been pretreated with methacrylatochromic chloride in isopropanol. Polyesteramide (P) may have repeating unit or where R<SP>1</SP> is alkylene, arylene, aralkylene, or optionally substituted with one or more of F, Cl, Br, and/or C 1 -C 15 alkyl or alkoxy; R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are independently H, alkyl, or aryl, B<SP>4</SP> is aminoalkyleneoxy or oxyalkyleneamino, R<SP>5</SP> is ethylenically unsaturated alkenylene and R<SP>6</SP> is alkylene or alkenylene. |
