titleOfInvention Process for the pruification of crude 2,2-bis-4,-oxyphenyl-propane
abstract 1377227 Purification of bisphenol A BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-PABRIK AG 27 March 1972 14227/72 Heading C2C Crude bisphenol A is purified by forming an adduct of the crude bisphenol A and phenol, melting the adduct and passing the melt through at least one column containing an acidic and/or weakly basic ion exchanger, the material discharged from the column(s) being distilled to separate it into phenol and bisphenol A. The adduct should preferably have a melting point of not more than 100‹ C. and is preferably passed firstly through an exchange column containing an acidic ion exchanger and secondly through an exchange column containing a weakly basic ion exchanger.
