1377092 Detergents containing anti-redeposition agents UNILEVER Ltd 7 Jan 1972 [13 Jan 1971] 1650/71 Heading C5D Detergent compositions for washing polyester fabrics comprise, as anti-redeposition agent, a copolymer of polyoxyethylene glycol and polyethylene terephthalate and a nonionic detergent selected from (A) ethoxylated alkyl phenols wherein the total alkyl substituents contain 6 to 12 C atoms and the ethylene oxide is present in the molar ratio from 5 : 1 to 25 : 1 with reference to the alkyl phenol; and (B) ethylene oxide (5 to 30), condensation products with (i) a C 10 -C 16 straight chain saturated aliphatic alcohol, (2) a C 10 -C 20 branched chain saturated aliphatic alcohol, (3) a C 10 -C 20 branched unsaturated aliphatic alcohol or (4) a C 10 -C 18 straight chain unsaturated aliphatic alcohol. Up to 80% of the nonionic detergent may be replaced by dodecyl benzene sulphonate. Soap may be present, together with builders such as sodium tripolyphosphates and other anti-redeposition agents. The copolymer may be admixed with organic extrudable solids to form granules. The composition may be in liquid or solid forms. Specifications 1,088,984, 1,154,730 and 1,204,123 are referred to. |
