abstract | 1371714 1,4-Diazacycloalkane derivatives KALI-CHEMIE AG 13 Sept 1972 [13 Sept 1971 26 July 1972] 42597/72 Heading C2C] Novel compounds I in which R is H or halo, 1-10 C alkoxy, NO 2 or secondary amino; R 1 is 1-10 C alkoxyphenyl, nitrophenyl, trifluoromethylphenyl, dihalophenyl, phenyl substituted by 1-10 C alkyl radicals, phenyl di-substituted by halogen and NO 2 group or a 1-10 C alkyl or alkoxy radical, or phenyl di-substituted by a 1-10 C alkoxy radical and a 1-10 C acyl radical and n, n<SP>1</SP> and m are each 2 or 3, and acid addition compounds thereof are prepared by (1) reaction of a compound II with formaldehyde and a compound III in the presence of a mineral acid, or (ii) reaction of a compound II with a compound IV in which Y is halo in the presence of a base. In reaction (ii) the compound IV may be converted to a ketal V prior to reaction with compound II and the ketal group split off after the reaction. |
