titleOfInvention | Inhibition of corrosion |
abstract | 1365291 Wrappers IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 8 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970 25 March 1971] 45814/70 and 7807/71 Heading B8C [Also in Division C7] Interlining, packing and wrapping materials designed to reduce corrosion of steel wrapped therein are inpregnated with an inhibitor which is either a nitrile in which the nitrile group is in conjugation with at least two carbon-carbon unsaturated bonds, the nitrile group being attached to a carbon atom of an aliphatic carbon - carbon unsaturated bond, or an aldoxime or ketoxime in which the > C = NOH group forms part of, or is directly attached to, a cyclic nucleus, or is in conjugation with at least one carbon-carbon unsaturated bond. Inhibitors mentioned are cinnamonitrile, p-methoxy cinnamonitrile, 1-cyano-4-phenylbuta-1,3-diene, 1- cyano - 4 - pyrimidin - 2<SP>1</SP> - ylbuta - 1,3 - diene, 1 - cyanobut - 1 - ene - 3 - yne, 1 - cyanohexa- 1,5 - diene - 3 - yne, 6 - cyanohexa - 1,3,5- triene-1-yl dimethyl phenyl ammonium salts, e.g. Cl<SP>-</SP>, Br<SP>-</SP>, I<SP>-</SP>, methosulphate or ethosulphate salts, cyclohexanone oxime, 1,2- and 1,4-cyclohexane diketoximes, benzalacetoxime, dibenzalacetoxime, o- and p-benzoquinone monoximes and dioximes, acetophenoneoxime, benzophenoneoxime, benzaldoxime and cinnamaldoxime. |
