abstract | 1365176 Benzodiazepines F HOFFMANNLA ROCHE & CO AG 3 Aug 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 36296/72 Heading C2C Compounds of the general Formula (I): (R 1 =H, C 1-7 alkyl or alkanoyl; R 2,3 = H, C 1-7 alkyl; R 4 = C 1-7 alkyl; R 5 =H, C 2-8 alkoxycarbonyl; R 6 = H, halogen) and their acid addition salts, are prepared by (a) reacting a compound of the Formula (II): with R 4 OCHR 3 X (X=halogen atom or leaving group), (b) cyclizing a compound of the Formula (IV): (c) reducing or reductively alkylating the corresponding 7-nitrobenzodiazepinone, (d) alkylating a compound of Formula (I), R 2 =H, (e) hydrolysing a compound of the Formula (VI): (R 9 = acyl; R 10 = C 1-7 alkyl) or (f) acylating a compound of Formula (I), R 1 = H, optionally followed in each case by salt formation. The above compounds are anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants and sedatives, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier. |
