titleOfInvention Phosphonic acid ester derivatives and their use as flame proofing agents
abstract 1364700 Derivatives of urethanoalkyl phosphonic acid esters FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 25 Aug 1971 [29 Aug 1970] 39846/71 Addition to 1311906 Heading C2P [Also in Division D1] Novel compounds of the general formula wherein each of R, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are alkyl, preferably C 1 -C 4 alkyl, and Y is H or a methylol group, are obtained by reacting a compound of the formula with formaldehyde. The products are useful as flame-proofing agents for cellulosic fibrous materials. The compounds (II) may be obtained by reacting a compound with phosgene to form and then treating the latter with ammonia, or by reacting III with chlorosulphonyl isocyanate and then hydrolysing the main reaction product.
