titleOfInvention | Low froth watersoluble dyeing auxiliaries |
abstract | 1359017 Dyeing auxiliaries BADISCHE ANILIN-& SODA-FABRIK AG 8 Sept 1971 [9 Sept 1970] 41800/71 Heading D1B [Also in Division C5] Low-froth water-soluble dyeing auxiliaries comprise (a) 10-50% by weight of a non- ionic, anionic or cationic surfactant or a mixture of surfactants; (b) 10-50% by weight of an esterification product of 2 moles of a mixture of fatty acids containing not less than 30% oleic acid and one mole of a block copolymer carrying 2 terminal hydroxy groups of ethylene oxide and 1, 2-propylene oxide having a molecular weight of 1,500-7,000; and (c) 20-80% by weight of water and/or organic solvents. The block polymer in component (b) is preferably a copolymer having two terminal hydroxy groups and consists of 10 to 80% by weight of ethylene oxide units and 90 to 20% by weight of propylene oxide units, the preferred acid mixture being oleic acid and one or more of stearic acid, arachidic acid, behenic acid and cerotic acid, the preferred solvent mixture being water and/or one or more solvents selected from butyl diglycol, butyl triglycol, isopropanol, dipropylene glycol, butyrolactone, N-methyl pyrrolidone and dimethyl formamide. Further acids specified are soya bean acid, peanut oil acid, tallow acids obtained from bovine, pig or mutton tallow and palm oil acids. The compositions are used in dyeing natural and synthetic fibres. |
