titleOfInvention Photopolymerizable copying composition and copying material produced therewith
abstract 1357367 Photopolymerizable compositions KALLE AG 10 Aug 1971 [11 Aug 1970] 37490/71 Heading C3P [Also in Divisions G2 and B6] A photopolymerizable copying composition comprises a binder, a photopolymerizable monomer and a photoinitiator of the formula in which Z and Q are different and represent nitrogen or the group CR<SP>1</SP>, X and T are the same or different and represent nitrogen or CR<SP>11</SP>, R and R<SP>1</SP> each represent an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic radical and each R<SP>11</SP> represents hydrogen, halogen, or a nitro, amino, alkyl, aralkenyl, alkoxy or acylamino group, the nucleus A carrying a further radical R<SP>11</SP> or a fused benzene ring. Exemplified compositions contain as binder styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer, a maleate resin, methyl methacrylate/N-(ptolylsulphonyl) - carbamic acid - (# - acryloyloxy)-ethyl ester copolymer, methyl methacrylate/methacrylic acid copolymer, polyvinylbutyral with or without p-toluenesulphonyl isocyanate, alpha-methyl-styrene/vinyl toluene copolymer, polyesters and mixtures thereof. Monomers used are 1,1,1-trimethyl-ethane (or -propane)-triacrylate, or hydroxyl-containing polyester esterified with acrylic or methacrylic acid. Also present are solvents, e.g. ethylene glycol monomethyl or monoethyl ether or methyl ethyl ketone and optionally dyes, 1,6- dihydroxyethoxyhexane, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether or p-methoxy phenol. Particularly preferred photoinitiators have the formula especially where one or more substituents are alkoxy.
