titleOfInvention | Method of adhering polyurethane to a rayon nylon or polyester cord or fabric |
abstract | 1354609 Polyurethane coating FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO 2 July 1971 [23 July 1970] 4465/73 Divided out of 1354608 Heading B2E Polyurethane is adhered to a rayon, nylon or polyester cord or fabric attached to a rubber material by attaching the cord or fabric to the rubber, treating the cord or fabric to expose at least some of the fibres thereof, contacting liquid polyurethane with the fibres and allowing the polyurethane to harden. In an embodiment a breaker of rayon, nylon or polyester cord or fabric is attached to a tyre tread stock using cord dips containing a resorcinolformaldehyde resin and a latex. The cord or fabric breaker is then buffed to break open the fibres and the polyurethane is centrifugally cast into contact with the buffed material. |
