| abstract | 1351895 Enhancing perfume fragrance AVICON INC 22 March 1972 [21 April 1971] 13325/72 Heading A5B [Also in Division C4] The effectiveness of a fragrance may be increased and prolonged by association with a minor amount of a microcrystalline partial salt of collagen which (a) includes 50-90% of the maximum theoretical amount of bound acid, (b) includes particles under 1Á in size constituting at least 1% by weight, (c) is free of tropocollagen and its degraded derivatives and (d) would form a soliquoid in water at 0.5% concentration and pH 2.7 to 3.7. The collagen salt may be colloidally dispersed in a fragrant composition or applied to skin or hair before or after the fragrant composition. Fragrant compositions specified include hand and body cream, lotion and gel, moisturizing cream, pre- or after-shave gel, brushless shaving cream, antiperspirant lotion and cream, sun-tan gel, hair-setting gel, hair-dressing gel and aerosol hair spray. Fragrances specified include oil of bouquet, bay rum, oil of Wintergreen, Witch Hazel and rose water. Other ingredients specified include ethanol, benzoic acid, hexachlorophene, lanolin, sorbitol, hydrochloric acid, glycerol, propylene glycol, colouring, triethanolamine, stearic acid, isopropyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, white mineral oil, sorbitan monooleate, polyethylene glycol, benzalkonium chloride, polyglycol stearate, ester wax, sodium lauryl stearate, glycerol monostearate, aluminium chlorohydroxide, polyglycol distearate, butyl stearate, isopropyl myristate, isopropanol, polyethylene glycol oleyl ether, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, dichlorodifluormethane, dichlorotetrafluoroethane and water. |
