titleOfInvention | Anti-bacterial polymer |
abstract | 1348340 Anti-bacterial polymer compositions CONVENIENT SYSTEMS Inc 28 April 1971 11790/71 Heading C3P Anti-bacterial polymer compositions comprise (1) a polymer, and homogeneous distributed throughout the polymer (2) an organic antibacterial agent and (3) a hydrophilic surfactant. The polymer may be a polyolefin, rubber or cellulose derivative. The surfactant may be anionic, e.g. a sulphate, sulphonate, carboxylate or phosphate; cationic, e.g. quaternary ammonium compounds; or non-ionic, e.g. amines, glycols and alcohols. In an example a concentrate of polyethylene, N,N-bis-(2-hydroxyethyl) alkylamine surfactant and hexachlorophene is blended with further polyethylene and the composition extruded into film, sheet, roll or bar stock. |
