abstract | 1344734 Curing epoxy resins DOW CHEMICAL CO 23 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 11206/71 Heading C3B A curing agent for epoxy resins comprises: (I) 45-55 parts by wt. of an aromatic diamine, (II) 5-15 parts by wt. of an epoxy novolac, (III) 25-48 parts by wt. of an aralkanol having the formula in which n is 0 to 3; R is H or C 1-3 alkyl and R<SP>1</SP> is H, C 1-6 alkyl, halogen or C 1-5 alkoxy; and (IV) up to 8 parts by wt. of an aromatic acid. I may be methylene dianiline. II may have an epoxide equivalent of 172-210. III may be benzyl alcohol and IV may be salicylic acid. The curing agent cures epoxy resins at room temperature. |
