abstract | 1340420 Ethylene polymerization catalysts MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Dec 1971 [15 Dec 1970] 58071/71 Heading C3P Ethylene is copolymerized with one or more α-olefins having at least three carbon atoms in the presence of a catalyst comprising (1) chromium oxide on a support of silica or silicaalumina having an average pore diameter of 10 to 150 and (2) a pentaalkyl-siloxyalane or a dihydrocarbyl aluminium hydrocarbon oxide. Component (1) may be prepared by depositing a chromium compound on the support and then calcining it at 300 to 1200 C. In the examples ethylene is copolymerized with propylene or butene-1 or with propylene in the presence of hydrogen using CrO 3 on silica or silica-alumina and either Si trimethyl Al diethylsiloxyalane or diethylmonoethoxyaluminium. |
