titleOfInvention Process for producing high test hypochlorite
abstract 1334728 Calcium hypochlorite NIPPON SODA CO Ltd 16 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970 24 Nov 1970] 53192/71 Heading C1A Calcium hypochlorite is produced by preparing a mixture by adding 1 part by weight of NaOH, 0À93-1À02 parts by weight of Ca(OH) 2 and 0À9-1À1 parts by weight of H 2 O to 13-20 parts by weight of a solution of NaCl and Ca(ClO) 2 , chlorinating 93-99% by weight of the alkali contents by introducing Cl 2 and agitating, separating NaCl crystals, Ca(ClO) 2 crystals and a solution of NaCl and Ca(ClO) 2 from the chlorinated mixture and using the separated solution in the preparation of such a mixture. The process may be carried out continuously or batchwise. Preferably, the Ca(OH) 2 is added as slaked lime of particle size < 100 mesh (Tyler). The chlorination may be carried out at 15-25‹ C. for 0À5-4 hours.
