titleOfInvention Process for producing woven fabrics or nonwoven fleeces
abstract 1332085 Finishing edges FEZFABRIKEN GmbH 8 Feb 1972 [9 Feb 1971] 5853/72 Heading B5K [Also in Division D1] The cut edges of a woven or non-woven fabric made of synthetic yarns, threads or fibres are coated with a mixed polyamide solution to prevent fraying. Preferably, the fabric, prior to coating, is formed by longitudinally slitting a wider fabric. Preferably, the coating is a mixed polyamide of caprolactam, hexamethylenediamine/adipic acid and p,p<SP>1</SP>-diaminodicyclohexylmethane/adipic acid in an organic solvent. The polyamide coating is condensed, e.g. by infra-red lamps, after drying. Specified fabrics are a fabric woven from multi-filament polyester thread and a non-woven fleece of polypropylene staple fibres.
