abstract | 1330121 Oxidized polysaccharides; detergent compositions UNILEVER Ltd 20 Aug 1970 [20 Aug 1969] 41512/69 Headings C3A C3F and C3U [Also in Division C5] A detergent composition comprises a detergent active compound and more than 5% and up to 90% by weight of a water soluble or water dispersible oxidized polysaccharide containing at least 20% (based on 100 anhydroglucose units in the original polysaccharide) of dicarboxyl units, the ratio by weight of the detergent active compound to the oxidized polysaccharide being from 3 : 1 to 1 : 10. The oxidized polysaccharide is preferably obtained by oxidizing starch or cellulose with sodium hypochlorite at a pH of from 7À5 to 9. Detergent compositions evaluated comprise in addition to the dicarboxyl polysaccharides, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium C 15-18 -alphaolefine-sulphonate, sodium-N-(2-hydroxy C 14-16 alkyl)-N-methyl taurate, sulphobetaine DCH, sodium alkyl benzene sulphonate for example sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate, long chain alkyl poly(ethylene oxide) and sodium nitrilotriacetate. |
