abstract | 1329896 2-Ethylhexanal BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 19 April 1971 [21 Feb 1970] 22239/71 Heading C2C 2-Ethylhexan-1-al is prepared by hydrogenating 2-ethylhex-2-en-1-al at 80-160 C. and at elevated pressure in a trickling zone using a fixed bed noble metal catalyst supported on a carrier, part of the crude 2-ethylhexan-1-al being recycled to the trickling zone. Preferably the amount of recycled ethylhexanal is 2 to 10 times the amount of ethylhexenal fed. |
