The preparation of 3-allyl-4-hydroxyphenoxyacetic acid, 3 - allyl - 4 - hydroxyphenoxyacetamide, p - hydroxyphenoxy - N - methylacetamide, 4 - benzyloxy - 3 - methoxyphenoxyacetic acid, 4 - hydroxy - 3 - methoxyphenoxyacetic acid, 4 - hydroxy - 3 - methoxyphenoxyacetamide, phenols of the formula 5 - bromo - 2 - hydroxyphenoxyacetic acid, 6- bromo - 1,4 - benzodioxan - 2 - one, 5 - bromo - 2- hydroxyphenoxy - N - methylacetamide, 5 - benzyloxy - 2 - hydroxy - N - methylphenoxyacetamide, 2 - hydroxy - N,5 - dimethylphenoxyacetamide, 2 - hydroxy - 5 - methoxy - N - methylphenoxyacetamide, m - hydroxyphenoxy - N - methylacetamide, 3 - p - hydroxyphenoxybutyramide, 3 - bromo - 4 - hydroxyphenoxyacetic acid, methyl 3 - bromo - 4 - hydroxyphenoxyacetate, 3 - bromo - 4 - hydroxyphenoxyaoetamide, 4- hydroxy - 3 - methylphenoxyacetamide and 1 - (4- ethoxycarbonylmethoxyphenoxy)- 3 - isopropylaminopropan-2-ol is described.
