abstract | 1325280 3 - Substituted - as - triazino[5,6-c]- quinolines MORTON-NORWICH PRODUCTS Inc 22 March 1972 [5 April 1971] 13497/72 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the Formula I wherein R is chloro, amino, 2-hydroxyethylamino, methoxy or diallylamino may be prepared by treating as-triazino[5,6-c]quinoline- 3(4-H)-one with phosphorus oxychloride to yield the compound I in which R is chloro and optionally reacting the product with ammonia, 2-aminoethanol, sodium methoxide or diallylamine respectively. The intermediate as-triazino[5,6-c]quinoline- 3(4H)-one may be prepared by reacting 4- chloro - 3 - nitroquinoline with ethyl carbazate to yield ethyl 3-(3-nitro-4-quinolyl)carbazate hydrochloride which is reduced to ethyl 3-(3- amino - 4 - quinolyl)carbazate hydrochloride which is cyclized with sodium methoxide to as - triazino[5,6-c]quinolin - 3 - ol sodium salt which on acidification yields the required ketone. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds I show antifungal activity when administered topically with the usual excipients. |
