| abstract | 1323553 Herbicides containing thiophene derivatives MAY & BAKER Ltd 12 Aug 1970 [14 Aug 1969] 40712/69 Heading A5E [Also in Division C2] Thiophene derivatives of general formula: in which R, is an alkyl or alkenyl radical containing not more than 10 carbon atoms or a C 5 or C 6 cycloalkyl group; R 2 represents an alkyl or alkenyl group containing not more than 6 carbon atoms or a C 3 -C 5 cycloalkyl group; and R 3 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, are used as active ingredients in herbicidal compositions. The compositions may contain conventional diluents or carriers, surface-active agents, adhesives, colouring agents and adjuvants. If desired the compositions may contain one or more other pesticidally active compounds. A long list of such compounds is given and examples of herbicidal compositions containing the above thiophene derivatives are given (Exs 7-16). |
