titleOfInvention Dry-cleaning of textile fabrics
abstract 1322695 Dry-cleaning composition DIAMOND SHAMROCK CORP 19 April 1971 [21 Jan 1970] 20043/71 Heading C5D A composition for dry-cleaning textile fabrics comprises (A) a dry-cleaning solvent, (B) a drycleaning detergent and (C) calcium chloride, in proportion of 0À01 to 2À0 grams/100 ml. solvent, on an anhydrous basis. The calcium chloride may be added in the form of a 30 to 40% aqueous solution. The solvent (A) may be perchloroethylene, trichloroethylene or Stoddard's solvent. The detergent (B) may be an alkanolamide, mono- and di-phosphate esters of polyoxyethylated dinonylphenol, alkyl quaternary ammonium halides and alkylene oxide adducts of a fatty alcohol, alkyl phenol, fatty acid or fatty amide. The calcium chloride reduces the tendency of the dry-cleaning composition to redeposit soils on textile fabrics being cleaned therewith.
