titleOfInvention Spectrally sensitized photographic emulsions
abstract 1321427 Supersensitized photographic silver halide emulsions FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 22 July 1970 [23 July 1969] 35533/70 Heading G2C Photographic silver halide emulsions are supersensitized with at least one dye of the formula:- in which R is H or alkyl of 1-4 carbons; R 1 and R 2 are each alkyl, allyl or alkyl substituted by at least one -OH, -COOH or -SO 3 H group, at least one of R 1 and R 2 being substituted alkyl; Z 1 completes a naphthothiazole, naphthoselenazole or naphthoxazole moleus; Z 2 completes a naphthoselenazole, naphthoxazole, naphthoimidazole or benzimidazole nucleus; X 1 # is an acid anion and n is 0 or 1; in supersensitizing combination with at least one dye of the formula:- in which R 5 is alkyl of 1-4 carbons; R 3 and R 4 are each alkyl, allyl or alkyl substituted by at least one -OH, -O alkyl, -COOH or -SO 3 H group; Z 3 and Z 4 each complete a benzothiazole or benzoselenazole nucleus which may be substituted; X 2 is an acid anion and m is 0 or 1. The supersensitizing combination gives a high red sensitivity.
