abstract | 1321001 Alkylphenol sulphate-sulphonates CHEVRON RESEARCH CO 3 May 1971 [5 May 1970] 12815/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] The invention comprises alkylphenol sulphate-sulphonates of the formula wherein R is a substantially linear (C 16 to C 24 ) alkyl radical and X is H or a water-soluble saltforming cation. They may be obtained by sulphonating an appropriate alkyl phenol with, for example sulphur trioxide. Examples are given for the preparation of single compounds and mixtures of compounds of the above formula. They are useful as detergent additives. |
