abstract | 1320564 Photographic silver halide materials ILFORD Ltd 3 May 1971 [7 May 1970] 22140/70 Heading G2C A photographic material comprises at least one photographic silver halide emulsion layer or at least one emulsion layer which contains a developed silver image and as a protective supercoat layer a water-permeable colloid layer which has dispersed therein a diester of the general formula: wherein X is a divalent hydrocarbon linking group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms and R 1 and R 2 are each an alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, the said diester being substantive to the colloid layer, substantially colourless and having a boiling point greater than 200‹ C. Examples of suitable esters are dibutyl phthalate, dimethyl phthalate, dimethyl succinate and dibutyl succinate. Esters of glutanic acid may also be employed. The colloid may be gelatine. |
