titleOfInvention Process for producing an antilipemic substance from the organs of mammals
abstract 1318179 Antilipemic extracts TAIHO PHARMACEUTICAL CO Ltd 8 Dec 1971 56907/71 Heading A5B An antilipemic material is obtained from any mammalian organ capable of autolysis by grinding or dispersing the organ in aqueous medium, allowing autolysis to take place, dialysing the resultant against water, precipitating protein from the residual liquid by addition of a deproteinizing agent (e.g. (NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 , NaCl or CCl 3 CO 2 H), dialysing to remove the deproteinizing agent, concentrating the residual liquid and precipitating the active material therefrom by addition of a lower alkanol or acetone. Suitable animal organs are: lung (preferred), liver, heart, kidney, pancreas, large and small intestine, stomach, brain, muscle and blood.
