titleOfInvention Schiff bases and their production
abstract 1313890 Schiff bases INTERNATIONAL FLAVORS & FRAGRANCES Inc 30 Oct 1970 [4 Nov 1969] 11015/72 Divided out of 1313889 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formula where R 1 and R 2 are H or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, R 3 is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl and n is 1 or 2. Compounds where n is 1 are prepared by reacting a Schiff base of the formula with a Grignard reagent to form a complex which is then reacted with a myrtenyl halide. Compounds where n is 2 may be prepared sirnilarly.
