abstract | 1309133 Phenylenediamine derivatives AGFAGEVAERT AG 18 June 1970 [19 June 1969] 29593/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division G2] N - Dodecyl - N - (3 - sulphopropyl) - p - phenylenediamine is prepared by nickel-catalysed hydrogenation of 4 - nitroso - N - dodecyl - N- #-sulphopropyl aniline. 4-Nitroso-N-dodecyl-N- #-sulphopropylaniline is prepared by refluxing N-dodecylaniline mixed with propane sultone in toluene, and treating the residue with concentrated sulphuric acid and sodium nitrite at 0‹ C. N-dodecylaniline is prepared by refluxing aniline mixed with 1-bromododecane. The following phenylene-diamines may be prepared similarly: N - dodecyl - N - (4 - sulphobutyl) - pphenylenediamine, N - dodecyl - N - (# - hydroxyethyl) - p - phenylenediamine, 4 - [N - dodecyl- N - (# - carboxyethyl)]amino- 2 - methylaniline, 4 - [N - dodecyl - N - (3 - sulphopropyl)]amino- 2,6 - dimethylaniline, 4 - [N - dodecyl - N - (#- methylsulphonamidoethyl)]amino - 2 - methylaniline and 4 - [N - dodecyl - N - (3 - sulphopropyl)]amino-2-methylaniline. |
